I envy the painter, sculptor, architect who is able to emulate the beauty of nature on some type of canvas...bringing into our homes the mystery of creation. None, however, can master the simple beauty of God's art. I catch myself clapping at a sunset, saying..."Good job, God! That one was specially wonderful tonight!" and stopping short to stand frozen for a time, staring back at two solemn owls on a woodland path. What Mind creates tiny flowers so small you have to creep low among the grasses to find them, and upon the finding of them, discover that each tiny stem holds not one color of flowers but two or even three different colored blossoms on one stem...
From the enormity of the cosmos, to the minutiae of
the interior working of the electron...I am amazed! Paint on, God! Paint on!

A Modern Psalm
O Great God of the fuzzy peach;
Painter of lilies, organizer of grass seeds.
You who, with intent, place tiny hairs on the happy bee's legs,
And dip each perfect hummingbird into iridescent rainbow paint...
...You are Great!
